PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance detection type electromechanical conversion element that can broad a detection band even when the size of one pixel increases.SOLUTION: A capacitance detection type electromechanical conversion element has a plurality of cells each of which comprises: a first electrode 105 disposed on a board 106 and a second electrode 102 disposed on a vibration film 101 which is provided so as to form a gap between the vibration film 101 and the first electrode and a detection circuit 107 that can detect displacement of the vibration film 101 on the basis of capacitance variation between the first and second electrodes. The second electrode 102 is provided on the vibration film 101 so as to face the first electrode.
