The invention concerns a scale and a fruit collector which is designed to reduce or even eliminate any gap in the overlapping of the scales which can let fruit slip by. The scale and fruit collector (10) has connected rows of scales (12a, 12b). The rows of scales extending between an intake (14) of the collector and an outlet (16) of the collector parallel to a median axis (18) of the collector, and the rows of scales including respectively a succession of scales (20) with overlap, mounted as pivots on a support (60) with a return to a resting position, in which - each scale presents a longitudinal median scale axis (30) extending from the proximal end (28) to the distal end (26) of the scale and forming, in the resting position of the scale, an acute angle of aperture (Ω) with the median axis (18) of the collector, relative to the collector intake and - each scale (20) presents a capability to pivot relative to the support (60), between the resting position and at least one bent-back position towards the outlet (14) of the collector, reducing the angle of aperture. In accordance with the invention, the collector includes at least one hindrance for limiting an amplitude of divergent displacement, respectively between two successive scales (20) of a row of scales. Application for harvesting machines.
