PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress induction of choking caused by an acid tasting agent in a range (20 mPa s or less) of low viscosity.SOLUTION: Choking caused by an acid tasting agent can be suppressed by combining taurine and thickening agent showing semi-viscous fluid movement with an acid tasting beverage. In other words, a beverage composition contains a thickening agent showing semi-viscous fluid movement and taurine, and has a concentration of the acid tasting agent of 0.2 mass%-2.0 mass% and viscosity of 6.5-20 mPa s. It is preferable that xanthan gum or guar gum is employed as thickening agent showing semi-viscous fluid movement.
