The invention relates to an adapter (26) for a camera (24) and to a device and a method for capturing images during a dental treatment in an oral cavity of a patient. The aim of the invention is to allow the advantages of an intraoral camera perspective to be usable even during a treatment. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the adapter (26) comprises means (34； 80, 86； 104) for securing to a dental dam clamp (10) and means (38, 40； 70, 82； 40, 94) for positioning and aligning the camera (24) on the treatment location in a fixable manner or in that the device comprises such an adapter (26). According to the method, the camera (24) is secured to a dental dam clamp (10) in an articulated manner by means of the adapter (26) and is aligned towards the treatment location by moving the camera (24) relative to the adapter (26) and/or by moving the adapter (26) relative to the dental dam clamp (10), and the camera (24) captures images of the treatment location during the dental treatment.
