PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial reef to be submerged in the sea to settle and propagate fish and shellfish while growing seaweed, which is configured so that more thinnings be effectively used, and an effective shade for propagation of fishes be created.SOLUTION: The artificial reef 1 to be submerged in the sea includes: an upper end fixing plate 11 for fixing and supporting the longitudinal upper ends of a plurality of wood materials 10； a lower end fixing plate 12 for fixing and supporting the longitudinal lower ends of the plurality of wood materials 10； and an intermediate binder 13 for bundling the plurality of wood materials 10 at the longitudinal center thereof.
