PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a rotary self-propelling type endoscope having a high-handleability which enables an easy and sure connection of a plurality of operation wires for bending a bending section by traction with a metal fitting on the operation side at once when an insertion section and the operation section are attached/detached.
SOLUTION: This rotary self propelling type endoscope is equipped with the insertion section, the operation section which is a separate body from the insertion section, a driving means, a bending wire, and a connecting mechanism. In this case, the insertion section is equipped with an insertion section main body having a bending section on the distal end side, and a rotary cylindrical body which is rotatably fitted on the insertion section main body. The driving means is provided in the operation section, and is used for rotating the rotary cylindrical body to the insertion section main body while engaging with the rotary cylindrical body. The bending wire is inserted in the insertion section, and is used for bending the bending section into a specified direction by the longitudinal traction direction. The connecting mechanism is equipped with a first functional connection and a second functional connection. The first functional connection enables the traction operation of the bending wire to be performed in the operation section. The second functional connection enables the rotary driving force of the driving means to be transmitted to the rotary cylindrical body.
