Commercial antimicrobial wound dressings commonly comprise an antimicrobial agent or a medicine having functionality to promote wound healing, causing the commercial antimicrobial dressings be priced expensively. Accordingly, the present invention provides a water extract of leaves ofCinnamomumosmophloeumKanehira (COK) by using water extracting process. It is worth explaining that, animal experiments and cell experiments have proved that, an obvious would healing effect exhibits on the wound after coating COK water extract with 0.5% (v/v) concentration on a wound of a C57BL/6 mice for 6 days. By using COK water extract as the antimicrobial agent or the medicine having functionality to promote wound healing of the antimicrobial wound dressings, it is presumable that not only do the antimicrobial wound dressings has advantages of low cost and less selling price, but antimicrobial wound dressings will be more and more popular.市售的抗菌型傷口敷料因含有抗菌劑或具促進傷口癒合的醫藥物質而售價昂貴。有鑑於此,本發明之發明人特別利用水萃法自台灣土肉桂的葉子獲得水萃物。值得說明的是,動物實驗與細胞實驗係證實,將濃度0.5%(v/v)以上的土肉桂葉水萃物塗敷至C57BL/6 小鼠的一傷口部位持續六日,係能夠顯示出促進傷口癒合之效果。可想而知,以土肉桂葉水萃物替代市售抗菌型傷口敷料之中的抗菌劑(例如: Chlorhexidine diacetate)之後,該抗菌型傷口敷料的成本便可以大幅降低,連帶著使其售價能夠變得便宜,是以能夠增加該抗菌型傷口敷料的普及化。
