The present invention relates to a novel benzamide derivative and a pharmaceutical use of the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a novel benzamide having a structure of chemical formula 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and to a composition including the same for preventing or treating pain and pruritus. The novel benzamide derivative and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to the present invention have an excellent effect in controlling pain not only in neuropathic animal models but also in other pain-deriving models such as formalin models so as to be utilized in controlling various types of pain such as invasive pain and chronic pain. Moreover, it has been confirmed that the novel benzamide derivative and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to the present invention also have an anti-pruritic effect in itchiness models to which mechanism and treatment concepts established from pain are applied, so that the novel benzamide derivative, as an anti-pruritic composition, controls and treats initial itchiness and damage to skin or inflammatory reaction after a scratching phase can be prevented thereby.
