PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological sample freezing apparatus in which a splash of a cryogenic liquid does not adhere to a container of the sample, and which therefore can freeze the biological sample without a risk of contamination of the biological sample.SOLUTION: A biological sample freezing apparatus 1 according to the present invention comprises: a housing container 3 which houses biological sample, is a cylindrical body with a hollow inside and has, in its upper part, an intake port 9 for sucking the outside air and has, in its lower part, an exhaust port 11 for exhaustion； a storage refrigerator 5 provided in the upper part in the housing container 3, storing a cryogenic liquid 16, and having a circumferential wall serving as a cooling surface for cooling atmosphere； and a biological sample placing part 7 provided in the housing container 3 and below the storage refrigerator 5, and having the biological sample placed thereon.
