PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an iron powder for an auxiliary-material-containing seed coating; an iron powder for an auxiliary-material-adhered seed coating; and an alloy steel powder for a seed coating, in which it is possible to achieve a coating that has little shedding of iron powder not only in a sowing step but also in a transportation step, and it is possible to coat the seeds with an auxiliary material beneficial for the growth of the seed in a state that is favorable to seed growth, and to provide a seed coated with an iron powder for an auxiliary-material-containing seed coating, an iron powder for an auxiliary-material-adhered seed coating or and an alloy steel powder for a seed coating. SOLUTION: The iron powder for an auxiliary-material-containing seed coating includes 0.01-100 pts.mass of an auxiliary material powder based on 100 pts.mass of iron powder, wherein in the iron powder, the mass ratio of the iron powder having at most 63μm of a particle diameter is at least 0% and at most 75%, the mass ratio of the iron powder having more than 63μm and at most 150μm is at least 25% and at most 100%, and the mass ratio of the iron powder having more than 150μm of a particle diameter is at least 0% and at most 50%, and the average particle diameter of the auxiliary material powder is at most 45μm.
