The present invention relates to a composition for obesity prevention and treatment which comprises, as active ingredients, a salvia plebeian extract and a compound selected from the group consisting of homoplantaginin, luteolin, and rosmarinic acid isolated from the salvia plebeian extract. According to the present invention, the salvia plebeian extract or the compound selected from the group consisting of homoplantaginin, luteolin, and rosmarinic acid isolated from the salvia plebeian extract inhibit activation of a catalyst for adipocyte differentiation to suppress the adipocyte differentiation, and provides superior efficacy for inhibiting deposition of lipids, thereby being utilized for obesity prevention or treatment.본 발명은 여지초 추출물 또는 이로부터 분리된 호모플라타기닌(Homoplantaginin), 루테올린(luteolin) 및 로즈마린산(rosmarinic acid)으로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 화합물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 비만 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 여지초 추출물 또는 이로부터 분리된 호모플라타기닌(Homoplantaginin), 루테올린(luteolin) 및 로즈마린산(rosmarinic acid)으로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 화합물은 지방분화효소 활성을 억제하고 지방세포의 분화를 억제하고, 지질의 축적을 억제하는 효능이 우수하므로, 비만의 예방 또는 치료에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
