A method and pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and/or BPD-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is disclosed, in a particular form, the method involves administering to a subject, an effective amount of an active agent selected from the group consisting of mterieukin-1 receptor antagonist (TL-lRa) and functional fragments and variants thereof. The invention also extends to the use of IL-I Ra and functional fragments and variants thereof for the treatment of other forms of PAH seen in infants.Linvention concerne un procédé et une composition pharmaceutique pour prévenir ou traiter la dysplasie bronchopulmonaire (BPD) et/ou lhypertension artérielle pulmonaire (PAH) associée à la BPD, et dans une forme particulière, le procédé inclut ladministration à un sujet dune quantité efficace dun agent actif sélectionné dans le groupe constitué de lantagoniste du récepteur de linterleukine-1 (IL-IRa) (issue: mterieukin-1?) et des fragments et variants fonctionnels de celui-ci. Linvention sétend aussi à lutilisation de IL-IRa et de fragments et variants fonctionnels de celui-ci pour le traitement dautres formes de PAH vues chez les enfants.
