PURPOSE: A composition for prevention or treatment of respiratory diseases which contains mixed herb extracts of corydalis tuber and cnidii rhizoma is provided to promote 5- lipoxygenase inhibiting activities, airway narrowing inhibiting activities, airway inflammation inhibitory actions and ear edema antiphlogistic actions. CONSTITUTION: A composition for prevention or treatment of respiratory diseases contains mixed herb extracts of corydalis tuber and cnidii rhizoma using the lower grade alcohol having 1-4 carbons or 10-95% alcohol aqueous solution thereof. The extract is an extract refined by ethyl acetate, dichloromethane or butanol. The herb medicine mixing weight rate of Cnidii Rhizoma to Corydalis Tuber is 0.1:1-10:1. The herb medicine mixing weight rate of the Cnidii Rhizoma to Corydalis Tuber is 0.5:1-5:1. The respiratory disease is asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease, allergic rhinitis, bronchial adenoma, tuberculosis, pyothorax, lung abscess, terror discharge of phlegm, bronchitis, sore throat, tonsillitis or laryngitis. The health supplement for prevention or improvement of the respiratory disease includes mixed herb extracts of corydalis tuber and cnidii rhizoma using the lower grade alcohol having 1-4 carbons or 10-95% alcohol aqueous solution thereof.본 발명은 천궁(Cnidii Rhizoma) 및 현호색(Corydalis Tuber)의 혼합 생약 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 호흡기 질환의 예방 또는 치료제 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 상기 천궁 및 현호색의 혼합 생약 추출물은 5-리폭시게나제 억제 활성, 기도수축억제 활성, 기도염증 억제 작용 및 귀부종 소염 효과가 우수함을 확인하여, 천식, 만성폐쇄성폐질환, 급만성기관지염, 알레르기 비염, 진해 거담, 급성하기도 감염증(기관지염 및 세기관지염), 인후염, 편도염, 후두염과 같은 급성상기도감염증 등의 호흡기질환의 예방 또는 치료에 유용한 것으로 확인된다.
