PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constitution of a planting mechanism capable of preventing a mistake in takeout of a sweet potato seedling and realizing a suitable planting posture of the sweet potato seedling in a machine for inserting the sweet potato seedling.SOLUTION: This machine for inserting the sweet potato seedling 50 is designed to transport the sweet potato seedling 50 to the vicinity of the planting mechanism 7 with a seedling feeding mechanism 8, grip a stem end part 50a with a pair of left and right planting claws 12a and 12b, carry out the takeout of the seedling 50, shake the planting claws 12a and 12b in the vertical directions, thrust the planting claws 12a and 12b into a field and thereby perform planting operation. In the machine, the pair of left and right planting claws 12a and 12b are composed so as to open and close with a claw opening and closing mechanism and the lower parts of the middle parts of the planting claws 12a and 12b are gripping parts 35 which are formed into a shape intersecting the stem end part 50a at right angles when viewed from the side during the takeout of the seedling 50.COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO【課題】 苗取のミスの防止と、甘藷苗の適切な植込姿勢を実現する植込機構の構成を提案する。【解決手段】 甘藷苗50を苗供給機構8によって植込機構7の近傍まで搬送し、茎端部50cを左右一対の植込爪12a・12bで掴んで苗取を行い、該植込爪12a・12bを上下方向に揺動させ、植込爪12a・12bを圃場に突入させることで、植込み作業を行う甘藷挿苗機において、前記左右一対の植込爪12a・12bは、爪開閉機構により開閉する構成とするとともに、植込爪の中途部より下部を掴み部35とし、該掴み部35は、苗取時の側面視において、茎端部50aに直交する形状とした。
