A sunscreen composition comprising a sunscreen active composition, a volatile oily solvent and a rheology-modified ethylene copolymer is disclosed. The sunscreen composition is present in the form of a thixotropic gel. The sunscreen composition may be dispersed in the skin using an aerosol-or non-aerosol-based spray device. The sunscreen composition is provided to prevent ultraviolet radiation without causing damage to the skin.
