This invention also provides a method for treating or preventing parasites in an animal in need thereof for a period of 3 to 6 months which comprises administering this long acting injectable formulation to said animal. This invention also provides a use of an isoxazoline in the preparation of a long-acting injectable formulation for the treatment or prevention of a parasite infestation or infection on or in an animal.
