There is disclosed a aerosol provision device for heating aerosolizable material to volatilise at least one component of said aerosolizable material. The aerosol provision device comprises: a housing for being held, in use, by a user of the aerosol provision device, the housing comprising a first part and a second part, wherein the first part comprises a surface and a heating channel on the surface, wherein the heating channel is for receiving aerosolizable material so that, in use, the aerosolizable material can be heated in the heating channel to volatilise at least one component of said aerosolizable material to generate a flow of aerosol for inhalation by the user； and wherein the first part and the second part are mounted for relative pivotable movement about a pivot axis that is arranged substantially lengthwise with respect to the aerosol provision device, the pivotable movement being between a housing closed position in which the second part covers the heating channel and a housing open position in which the user can place aerosolizable material into the heating channel.
