PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article, which allows a user to feel comfortable when applied, and prevents an amount of body fluid to be absorbed therein from decreasing and discomfort caused by the body fluid having failed to be absorbed therein from being applied to the user.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 comprises a liquid-permeable surface layer 2, a liquid-impermeable rear surface layer 3, and an absorbent layer 4 arranged between the surface layer 2 and the rear surface layer 3. A plurality of less basis weight areas 20 composed of a material with less basis weight than that in the other area and a more basis weight area 10 composed of a material with more basis weight than that in the less basis weight areas 20 between the less basis weight areas 20 are provided around the periphery of the absorbent layer 4. A compressed part 7 to integrate the surface layer 2 and the absorbent layer 4 is mounted in the more basis weight area 10 of the absorbent layer 4.
