The present invention is to provide a method for exactly dividing image data captured by an MRI or CT into an image of an affected part through a morphological operation method. According to an aspect of the present invention, an image segmentation processing method using the morphological operation comprises the steps of: producing a preprocessing image (I1) with an original image [f(x,y)] captured by the MRI and CT through a morphological gradient (Mor-grd) operation and an image filtering process； calculating a threshold value (T) for binarization by using an average value and a standard deviation of the preprocessing image (I1), and converting the processing image (I1) into a binary image (I2) by using the threshold value (T) for binarization； calculating a threshold value (Ithresh) for improving by carrying out a morphological closing operation and opening operation for the binary image (I2), and converting the binary image (i2) into an improved image (I3) by using the threshold value (Ithresh) for improving； and producing a target image by dividing the affected part from the improved image (I3).본 발명은 MRI 또는 CT로 촬영된 이미지 데이터를 형태학적 연산(Morphological Operation) 기법을 통해 환부의 이미지만을 정확하게 분할할 수 있도록 해주는 방법을 제공하는데 그 주된 목적이 있다.상기한 목적을 달성하기 위해 제공되는 본 발명의 일측면에 따르면, 형태학적 연산을 이용한 이미지 분할 처리방법은, MRI 또는 CT 촬영된 원본 이미지[f(x,y)]를 형태학적 기울기(Morphological Gradient, Mor-grd) 연산 및 이미지 필터링 과정을 통해 전처리 이미지(I1)를 생성하는 단계； 상기 전처리 이미지(I1)의 평균값과 표준편차를 이용하여 이진화용 임계값(T)을 계산하고, 이 이진화용 임계값(T)을 이용하여 상기 전처리 이미지(I1)를 이진 이미지(I2)로 변환하는 단계； 상기 이진 이미지(I2)에 대해 형태학적 클로징 연산 및 오프닝 연산을 수행하여 개선용 임계값(Ithresh)을 계산하고, 이 개선용 임계값(Ithresh)을 이용하여 상기 이진 이미지(I2)를 개선 이미지(I3)로 변환하는 단계； 및 상기 개선 이미지(I3)로부터 환부만을 분할하여 타겟 이미지를 생성하는 단계；를 포함한다.
