The present disclosure relates to a method for resetting an apparatus configured for tissue stapling, wherein the method includes providing the apparatus with a cam element of the apparatus in a fired position. The method further includes changing the polarity of an apparatus motor and activating the motor so that the cam element rotates in a second direction from the fired position back to one position. the apparatus further includes a staple head assembly and a drive shaft assembly coupled to the staple head assembly. the apparatus further includes a body coupled to the drive shaft assembly. the body comprises a motor and a cam element that is configured to rotate in response to motor activation. rotation of the cam element in a first direction from the initial position to the triggered position results in the actuation of the stapling head assembly.
