The present disclosure describes methods and compositions for treating patients with cancer that express the CYP3A enzyme by co-administration of cobicistat and an anticancer agent. A method for treating a patient suffering from cancer comprising the steps of: (a) administering an anticancer agent； and (b) cobicistat to the patient, wherein the cancer comprises a CYP3A enzyme. A method comprising expressing cells, wherein the concentration of the anticancer agent in the cells is increased after administration of cobicistat.
