To provide a method for storing vegetables and fruits in which deterioration and rot of the vegetables and fruits can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A method for storing vegetables and fruits is provided for storing the vegetables and fruits so that SC1<;SC2 may be satisfied by the concentration SC1(μmol/g) of an antibacterial agent R contained in the vegetables and fruits before storage on the surface of the vegetables and fruits, and the concentration SC2(μmol/g) of the antibacterial agent R contained in the vegetables and fruits after storage on the surface of the vegetables and fruits. Also, a gas penetration film having a multilayer structure of 2-layers or more is provided in which the moisture permeability (test temperature 40°C, test humidity 90%) is in a range of 10-80 g/m of24h, the heat seal strength in the heat-sealing temperature 140°C is in a range of 6-50 N/15 mm, holes having the maximum diameter of 50 μm or more are 1-piece per 1 mor less, and at least 1-layer of the multilayer structure contains a polymer having a constitutional unit derived from the 4-methyl-1-pentene.
