PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument in which the front end of a tubular body can be bent at a small curvature radius and a kink can be prevented from being formed.SOLUTION: A medical instrument (e.g. catheter 10) has a tubular body 300 to be inserted into a body cavity, and a manipulation wire 40. The tubular body 300 has a tubular body (sheath 16), and a bar-like body 80. The bar-like body 80 is made of an elastic material having rigidity higher than that of the tubular main body, and is embedded in a tube wall portion in the front end of the tubular body and extends in the longitudinal direction of the tubular body 300. The front end of the manipulation wire 40 is fixed to the tubular body 300 at a farther front end than the front end of the bar-like body 80. The tubular body 300 has a high-rigidity region having bending rigidity larger than that of a disposition region R1 of the bar-like body 80 more closely to a base end side than to a disposition region R1, and a low-rigidity region R2 having bending rigidity smaller than that of the disposition region R1 at a position between the front end of the bar-like body 80 and the front end of the manipulation wire 40.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】管状体の先端部を小さな曲率半径で屈曲させることができ、且つ、キンクの発生を抑制できる医療機器を提供する。【解決手段】医療機器(例えばカテーテル10)は体腔内に挿入される管状体300と操作線40を有する。管状体300は、管状本体(シース16)と棒状体80を有する。棒状体80は、管状本体よりも高剛性の弾性体からなり、管状本体の先端部における管壁部に埋設されて管状体300の長手方向に延在している。操作線40の先端は、棒状体80の先端よりも先端側において、管状体300に固定されている。管状体300は、棒状体80の配設領域R1より曲げ剛性が大きい高剛性領域を配設領域R1より基端側に有し、配設領域R1より曲げ剛性が小さい低剛性領域R2を棒状体80の先端と操作線40の先端との間に有する。【選択図】図1
