A non-aqueous nail polish consisting of: (a) a film-forming resin selected from the group consisting of vinyl acetate polymers and copolymers, vinyl alcohol polymers and copolymers, vinyl chloride polymers and copolymers, no greater than 5% by weight, based upon the weight of the polish, cellulosic polymers, and combinations thereof； (b) one or more organic solvents； and (c) optionally, an additive selected from the group consisting of plasticizers, adhesion promoters, suspending agents, pigments, effects pigments, colorants, optical brighteners, leveling agents, therapeutic agents, and combinations thereof.
