PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood purifying apparatus which reliably prevents a mistake of mounting a blood concentration detecting means on an arterial-side blood circuit or a venous-side blood circuit and automatically determines whether the mounted blood concentration detecting means is mounted on the arterial-side blood circuit or the venous-side blood circuit, and to provide a method for determining a mounted position of the blood concentration detecting means.
SOLUTION: The blood purifying apparatus, having a dialyzer 2 connected between the arterial-side blood circuit 1a and the venous-side blood circuit 1b for purifying blood circulating extracorporeally, a blood pump 3, and the blood concentration detecting means 5a, 5b for detecting the concentration of the blood flowing through the blood circuit 1, is equipped with the determining means 9 which determines whether the blood concentration detecting means is mounted on the arterial-side blood circuit 1a or the venous-side blood circuit 1b from the amplitude of signals measured by a first blood concentration detecting means 5a or a second blood concentration detecting means.
