PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial nest box for nest building in which woodpeckers can dig a nest by themselves only by mounting the artificial nest box on a tree when there is no suitable tree capable of digging a nest for nest building, an environment of the nest building can be set up, and acquisition and work of nesting sites can be facilitated.SOLUTION: An artificial nest box is characterized by: raising a height to a width and a depth forming the height of a position of a nest at a portion of about a half degree of the height of the nest box filling a wadding material 12 such as sawdust and wood chips fixed in some hardness with adhesives in a nest box 1 and mounting a front plate so as to be openable or removable with respect to a nest box front surface.COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT【課題】営巣のために巣穴を掘れる適当な樹木がない場合にも、本営巣用人工巣箱をその樹木に取り付けるだけで、キツツキ類が自ら巣穴を掘れるもので、営巣の環境を設営することができ、営巣場所の入手や細工が容易にできる。【解決手段】幅、奥行きに対して高さを高くし、巣穴の位置の高さは巣箱の高さの半分程度の部分とし、巣箱1の内部に、接着剤である程度の硬さに固着したおが屑、ウッドチップ等の中詰め材12を充填し、巣箱前面は前面の板を開放可能にまたは取り外し可能に取り付けた。【選択図】 図1
