Disclosed herein are methods for cell dedifferentiation, conversion and eukaryotic cell reprogramming. Also described are cells, cell lines and tissues that can be implanted into a patient after the steps of in vitro dedifferentiation and in vitro reprogramming. In certain embodiments, the cells are stem-like cells (SLC), including neural stem-like cells (NSLC). Also described are methods of producing these cells from human somatic cells and other types of cells.
