The present invention is directed to an isolated synthetic tripeptide of formula H-D-Phe-N-Methyl-L-Val-L-Ala-OMe (SEQ ID NO:1), or a derivative thereof, and to the corresponding lipotripeptides, which are specific to Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (Map) S-type strain, as well as derivatives and conjugates thereof. The invention also concerns the use of these antigens in different methods and tests for detecting Map infection, especially by detecting humoral response and cell mediated response of infected animals. The invention is also directed to a genetic signature of Map and a mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy signature of Map presence or infection.La présente invention concerne un tripeptide synthétique isolé de formule H-D-Phe-N-Methyl-L-Val-L-Ala-OMe (SEQ ID NO:1), ou un dérivé de celui-ci, et les lipotripeptides correspondants, qui sont spécifiques à la souche de type S de Mycobacterium avium subsp. Paratuberculosis (Map), ainsi que les dérivés et conjugués associés. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation de ces antigènes dans différentes méthodes et tests pour la détection d'une infection par Map, en particulier par détection d'une réponse humorale et d'une réponse à médiation cellulaire d'animaux infectés. L'invention concerne également une signature génétique de Map et une signature de spectrométrie de masse et de spectroscopie par RMN de la présence de Map ou de l'infection par celle-ci.
