PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having excellent luminous efficiency and durability, a low driving voltage, and excellent heat resistance.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element has a pair of electrodes consisting of a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and at least one organic layer including a luminous layer between the electrodes on a substrate. At least one organic layer contains a compound which has an aromatic six-member ring at a specific position of a triphenylene skeleton as shown below, and a substituted spcarbon-containing condensed ring group at a meta position for triphenylene of the aromatic six-member ring.
