PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formulation of lactic acid bacteria, and a method for using the same for producing food additives, hygiene products or pharmaceutical preparations for prevention and/or treatment of infectious diseases and inflammatory conditions caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi particularly in the mouth, vagina, urethra, nose, eyes and ears.SOLUTION: This invention relates to the formulation of lactic acid bacteria containing (a) a first component made of at least one strain of HO-producing lactic acid bacteria, and (b) a second component made of at least one strain of arginine-utilizing lactic acid bacteria.
