The line thinning processing unit generates a thinned image of a blood vessel on the basis of a blood vessel image representing a blood vessel branched into a plurality of parts. The division unit divides the thinned image into a plurality of segments on the basis of the position where the blood vessel is branched. The selection unit selects at least one segment out of the plurality of segments.
