The present invention relates to a technique for generating a three-dimensional ultrasound image using a plane wave. A method for generating a three-dimensional ultrasound image includes the following steps of: receiving a region for generating a three-dimensional image of a target object and image quality information； determines the transmission number and the transmission angle of a two-dimensional plane wave to be transmitted to image points for generating the three-dimensional image from the received region and image quality information； transmitting a plane wave according to the number of transmissions to the target object using a two-dimensional array transformer； and receiving an ultrasound signal, reflected from the target object, and collecting a beam. It is possible to implement a high-quality ultrasound image.본 발명은 평면파를 이용하여 3차원 초음파 영상을 생성하는 기술에 관한 것으로, 3차원 초음파 영상을 생성하는 방법은, 대상 객체에 대한 3차원 영상을 생성하고자 하는 영역 및 화질 정보를 입력받고, 입력된 영역 및 화질 정보로부터 3차원 영상 생성을 위한 영상 점들에 송신하고자 하는 2차원 평면파의 송신 개수 및 송신 각도를 결정하고, 2차원 배열 변환자를 이용하여 송신 개수에 따른 평면파를 대상 객체에 송신하며, 대상 객체로부터 반사되는 초음파 신호를 수신하여 빔 집속한다.
