The degree of turning of the auxiliary wheels (7) with respect to the forward direction of the cart (3) is detected by the angle sensor (35) and the rotation of the drive wheels (5) is controlled by the movement calculation circuit (29) so that the auxiliary wheels (7) turn toward the forward direction of the cart (3). Therefore, even when the auxiliary wheels (7) are turned to the left or the right in the traveling mode, the movement calculation circuit (29) quickly turns the auxiliary wheels (7) to the forward direction of the cart (3) in the fine movement mode. As a result, the cart (3) advances correctly in the forward direction according to a rapidly corrected auxiliary wheel (7) turning direction in the fine movement mode. Consequently, it is possible to move the cart (3) forward or backward correctly in the fine movement mode and to adjust the position of the cart (3) as intended.
