The purpose of the present invention is to provide a lifeform mounting-type detection device which has a small size and is capable of detecting, with good precision, a movement of a prescribed part of a lifeform, and jaw motion measurement method which measures the movement of a jaw using said lifeform mounting-type detection device. Provided is a lifeform mounting-type detection device (1), comprising a detection unit (2) which is mounted upon a lifeform and detects the movement of a prescribed part of said lifeform.
