An absorbent article (1) which comprises a liquid-permeable surface layer (2) provided on a skin contact surface, a leakage-preventing layer (4) provided in a skin non-contact surface side, and a liquid absorbing layer (3) provided between the surface layer (2) and the leakage-preventing layer (4). The liquid absorbing layer (3) is provided with a continuous layer (6) that continues in the planar direction including a skin contact side surface, and multiple small absorbing parts (8) that are continuously integrated with the continuous layer (6) and protrude in the skin non-contact surface side. The small absorbing parts (8) are separated from each other via separating parts (7) having a smaller basis weight than the small absorbing parts (8). The separating parts (7) do not penetrate through the skin contact surface of the liquid absorbing layer (3). The small absorbing parts (8) are provided with compressed parts (10) recessed from the skin non-contact surface side to the skin contact surface side.
