Disclosed is a method for distributing a unit dose form (38) from a distribution system (2) and a blister pack (30). The system (2) includes a housing (4) for receiving the blister pack (30), the blister pack (30) having a plurality of cavities (32), and at least one unit dose form (38) in each cavity. Enclosed in (32), the housing (4) includes at least one housing opening. The system (2) also includes a sensing layer, the sensing layer being a plurality of openings, each sensing layer opening being a blister pack when the blister pack (30) is received within the housing (4). Includes a plurality of openings configured to be substantially aligned with one or more of the plurality of cavities (32) of (30) and at least one sensing region. The system (2) further includes an electronic unit and a power source for supplying a voltage to the sensing layer. In use, the unit dose form (38) is distributed from the blister pack (30) through the sensing layer opening and at least one housing opening, eg, by applying pressure (P) to each cavity (32).
