A self-adhesive transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) comprising a back layer facing away from the skin that is impermeable to the active agent, an active agent deposit, a matrix connected to the active agent deposit that controls the release of the agent, and an adhesive fixing device for fixing the TTS on the skin, where the deposit and/or matrix contain support materials of paper, is new. An Independent claim is also included for the improved manufacture of transdermal therapeutic systems (TTS) with reduced spreading of coated actives, using a conventional tampon to coat a paper substrate.
