An absorbent composite is provided comprising an upper layer of the nonwoven fabric having hydrophilic fibers and an absorbent core layer directly or indirectly attached to the upper layer of the nonwoven fabric, the absorbent core layer comprising a breathable bonded nonwoven fabric. Absorbable complexes were (i) less than 50% complex outflow as measured by ISO9073-11； (ii) at least 600% complex absorption capacity as measured by ISO9072； and (iii) D824-. A combination of complex absorption rates of less than 10 seconds for a 5 mL liquid sample, as measured by 94, may be included.
