PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eye-opening state detection device capable of preventing deterioration in detection accuracy of an eye-opening state.SOLUTION: An eye-opening state detection device 1 for detecting an eye-opening state based on image information, comprises: an eyelid candidate selection unit 23 and an eyelid detection unit 24 that detect the positions of upper eyelids and the positions of lower eyelids based on the image information and an eye-opening state detection unit 25 that detects an eye-opening state based on the positions of the upper eyelids and the positions of the lower eyelids.
