PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suture instrument for the trachea which is suitable for suturing, anastomosis, or ligation of the trachea or a bronchus under an endoscope.SOLUTION: The suture instrument for the trachea includes an outer cylinder of hollow structure having an opening in a side face near the distal end a shaft slidably inserted through the hollow part of the outer cylinder a holding part fixed to the proximal end of the shaft and a suturing curved needle arranged in the opening of the outer cylinder. The outer diameter of the outer cylinder is 1-5 mm. The shaft and the suturing curved needle have bevel gears meshed with each other respectively, and are connected to each other through the bevel gears.
