PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the adequacy of determination for the necessity of a start of arousal support in an arousal supporting device.

SOLUTION: When the level of sleepiness of a first candidate is determined to be less than a threshold (S220 YES), whether a calculated value of reliability is a predetermined reference value or more is determined (S225). When the value of reliability is determined to the reference value or more (S225 YES), operation processing is terminated without starting the arousal support. On the other hand, when the value of reliability of the first candidate is determined to be less than the reference value (S225 NO), whether a second candidate is close to arousal is determined (S230). When the second candidate is determined to be close to arousal (S230 YES), the operation processing is terminated without starting the arousal support. On the other hand, when the second candidate is determined to be close to dozing (S230 NO), necessity confirmation processing (A) is executed (S235). If the user desires start of arousal support in the necessity confirmation processing, the arousal support is started.
