PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a screen corresponding to the direction of the measurement and discriminate the measurement direction of a subject by solving problems: that the oral cavity of a subject, or the object of a dental OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) apparatus, is narrow, small and complicated, in the measurement the directivities of top, bottom, left or right are different according to the positions and attitudes of an operator and a patient and measurement sites and in some case where the measurement range may be narrow, the directivity of a displayed tomographic image is hard to understand.

SOLUTION: A probe 1 of this dental OCT apparatus is disposed with a gradient and angle detector 44 for detecting the respective measurement directions of top, bottom, left and right so as to display the screen corresponding to the measurement direction and provide a tomographic image allowing the discrimination of the measurement direction of the subject.
