The present invention relates to a film having an antimicrobial agent with improved resistance to microbial growth. The film can be incorporated into an adhesive construction or a non-adhesive construction. In one combination, a three-layer film can be formed having a first layer comprising a polymeric film, a second layer comprising a polymeric film comprising halogenated hexidines, and a third layer comprising an adhesive.
