The present invention relates to a dental drill bit 10 comprising a first end 12 and a second end 14. A spherical drill head 16 is arranged at the first end, and at least one helical flute 26 extends from the spherical drill head towards the second end. The spherical tip may have cutting edges 18. There may be two intertwined spiral flutes, to convey debris away from the drilling site. The fluted shaft may be cylindrical or tapered. A formation 14 for attaching to a drilling machine may be provided. The present invention may be used with a guide sleeve or template (32, see figure 5a). A use of such a dental drill bit and methods of drilling a hole in an oblique bone surface of a jaw bone of a patient are also provided.
