This invention focuses on the formulation of anti-inflammatory of the gel with semi-purified flavonoids of the leaf extract Cleome rutido sperma D.C (Seru walai). Ninety percent (90 pcnt ) ethanol was used in the crude extract and Fourier Transport Infrared Spectroscopy was used to identify the major functional groups presnt in the crude extract. The result of the phytochemical screening conducted indicates that the leaf extract of Cleome rutidosperma D.C (Seru walai) contains carbohydrates, alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids and flavonoids. The result confirmed that the leaf of Cleome rutidosperma D.C has the possibility that it has anti-inflammatory activity. The use of a rotary evaporator for the isolation of semi-purified flavonoids is considered and further identified through the use of Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). Topical gel formulation includes Seru-walai extract as its inflammatory activity； gelling agents comprising of carbomer, cocoyl caprylocaprate, glycerin and phenoxyethanol.
