PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel melanogenesis inhibitor by a drug which inhibits the production of &alpha；MSH (1-8) which is a peptide consisting of eight amino acids constituted in the order of the sequence of serine, tyrosine, serine, methionine, glutamic acid, histidine, phenylalanine, and arginine produced inside of the body by receiving ultraviolet rays and stress, and also to provide cosmetic compositions, pharmaceutical compositions, and food and drink compositions containing the drug inhibiting the production of the &alpha；MSH (1-8).SOLUTION: The invention provides a novel melanogenesis inhibitor which inhibits the production of a peptide consisting of eight amino acids constituted in the order of the sequence of serine, tyrosine, serine, methionine, glutamic acid, histidine, phenylalanine, and arginine, and cosmetic compositions, pharmaceutical compositions, food and drink compositions, particularly aiming at the prevention and improvement of skin whitening and spots/freckles, containing it.【課題】紫外線やストレスを受けることによって体内中で産生されるセリン、チロシン、セリン、メチオニン、グルタミン酸、ヒスチジン、フェニルアラニン、アルギニンの配列順で構成される８つのアミノ酸から成るペプチド：αＭＳＨ（１－８）の産生を抑制する薬剤による、新規なメラニン産生阻害剤を提供する。またそのαＭＳＨ（１－８）の産生を抑制する薬剤を含有する化粧料組成物、医薬品組成物及び飲食品組成物を提供する。【解決手段】セリン、チロシン、セリン、メチオニン、グルタミン酸、ヒスチジン、フェニルアラニン、アルギニンの配列順で構成される８つのアミノ酸から成るペプチドの産生を抑制する新規なメラニン生成抑制剤、及び、それを含有する特に皮膚の美白、しみ・そばかすの予防、改善を目的とする化粧料組成物、医薬品組成物、飲食品組成物。【選択図】なし
