PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve leakage prevention effects by facilitating erection of gathers.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 includes: an absorber 4 interposed between a surface sheet 3 and a backside sheet 2 and double gathers consisting of inside gathers Zi and outside gathers Zo erected on a skin side on both sides of the surface side, by shrinkage force of elastic members 8 and 9 respectively. The gathers Z include connection parts 10 formed by connecting positions 13 spaced from the erecting base end 12 towards free end sides of the inside gathers Zi, and positions 14 spaced from the erecting base ends 12 of the outside gathers Zo towards the free end sides. A pair of embossments 11 and 11 are formed on erection base ends of the inside gathers Zi that are both sides of the surface side of the absorbent article 1 along the longitudinal direction.
