PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection device in which a syringe is disposed in a slender housing, and a shroud element moves forward with respect to the syringe after use and covers a needle so that a risk of an incidental needle stick injury can be suppressed to a minimum.SOLUTION: An injection device includes a slender housing 10, a syringe 12 disposed in the housing, and an inner piston 20 for discharging a single dose from a needle 16 at the front end. The injection device further includes a shroud element 24 that moves forward with respect to the syringe and covers a needle after use, and a latch 74 that can move between a latch state in which the backward movement of the shroud element is restricted, and a release state.
