The present invention relates to aminopolycarboxylic acid capable of being useful as a processing aid in the production of a super-absorbent. Further, disclosed is a production process for water-absorbing polymeric particles by polymerizing a monomer solution or suspension comprising a) at least one ethylenically unsaturated acid-functional monomer which is optionally at least partly present as salt； b) at least one cross-linker； and c) at least one initiator, wherein the process further comprises steps of drying the resulting polymer； also optionally grinding the dried polymer； sieving the ground polymer； and also optionally post-processing surface post-crosslinked polymer with at least one post-processing agent.
