The invention relates to an electrostimulation method and system for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS), using an external actuator on the pharyngeal/laryngeal muscles. According to the invention, the muscles involved receive an electric stimulus via the aforementioned actuator, in order to increase the muscle opening and obtain the flow of air needed to prevent a lack of air. The stimulus only occurs upon detection of an episode of apnoea based on an analysis of the sound patterns of the upper airways. Both the detection and the treatment are auto-adjustable so as to be adapted to the morphology of the patient and the development of the disease or problem.Método y sistema de electroestimulación para el tratamiento del Síndrome de Apnea Obstructiva del Sueño (SAOS) mediante un actuador externo en la musculatura faríngeo-laríngea. Mediante este actuador, los músculos implicados reciben un estímulo eléctrico, con el fin de ampliar la apertura muscular y conseguir el flujo de aire suficiente para evitar la falta de aire. Dicho estímulo actúa únicamente en caso de detectarse un episodio de apnea mediante el análisis de los patrones de sonido de las vías aéreas superiores. Tanto la detección como el tratamiento son autoajustables para adaptarse según la morfología del paciente y evolución de la enfermedad o problema.L'invention concerne une méthode et un système d'électrostimulation pour le traitement du syndrome d'apnées obstructives du sommeil (SAOS) au moyen d'un actionneur externe dans la musculature pharyngo-laryngienne. Grâce à cet actionneur, les muscles impliqués reçoivent un stimulus électrique permettant d'augmenter l'ouverture musculaire et d'obtenir un flux d'air suffisant pour éviter le manque d'air.
